IR Temple Again

Here is another view of the Salt Lake Temple taken with my infrared camera. I really like the look of this image. with all the dreamlike foliage. You don’t typically see things this way, and in my experience it’s difficult to achieve this look with traditional RGB imagery, you can get close but it’s just not completely there.

Infrared at the Salt Lake Temple

Had some fun making images at the Salt Lake Temple. Finally broke out my infrared converted D70 again. I love the look of IR imaging. So here is one of the shots from the day. This was actually taken through a window of the visitor center. Channel switch in Photoshop and here you go.

OK just one more of this and I’ll move on. This one has topaz detail applied to it. It’s quite a bit grittier than other version.

  • I Like the grittyness
  • I like the saturation of the other images better than this one.
  • This one is more like a photograph than a painting.
  • I think sometime in the future a black and white treatment would be fun to do.

Here is another image of a horse, In fact I have several images of this horse. It lives along one of the routes I take to work. I usually shoot from my vehicle with a long lens. The long lens and shooting with as fast an aperture as possible allows for the blurry background.

  • I think the light is what I like most here. It’s directional and soft.
  • The horse is almost in a reflective pose.
  • I keep wondering if I would like the wire out or if it adds.
  • I would like a little more light in the eyes.

So what’s your opinion? Post some comments below and let us know what you think.

I WON I WON I WON!!

The weekly Photoshop TV show featuring “The Photoshop Guys” Scott Kelby, Dave Cross and Matt Kloskowski. Presented by the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP). | Photoshop User TV

How exciting it is to win something. Watch PhotoshopUserTV and answer the photoshop question. I figured the odds are a million to one. But I still enter regularly. Well, today I got an e-mai notice telling me I’d won the contest. I get two tickets to Photoshop World in Vegas! It’s a crazy busy time for us at work but I’m trying to work out the schedule now. Hope to see you there.

Activation Woes

My laptop died 30 days ago. I got a new one, and most things are now working fine, with one exception. CS4 design premium. I’m currently on eternal hold with them. I have called twice before now to get this taken care of and what does the person say? (With a thick accent so it’s hard to understand) Our servers are down, just click the “I want to take care of this later button” This happened twice to me after a week between calls. I realize Adobe needs to make their money to keep improving Photoshop etc. But this is getting old. I’ve been waiting on hold for two hours now… I’m getting pretty sick of their elevator music loop, it only lasts for about 3 minutes and then repeats. This activation nightmare could drive a person to crack the software because they are making it impossible to work legally. Well after 3 hours on the phone, the guy finally said it’s fixed. I just have to wait another 2 hours before I can launch the program again. We’ll see if it works, cross your fingers.
